AUTUMN, falling leaves, crisp cool breeze, wonderful coloration on landscapes unexpected or new, renewal and rebirth, letting go and a big shift of seasons. Assuming we are a three stages of life people, one of my favorite words, autumnal, means just past the middle, or in the third stage of life, hopefully good colors. The season of mystery. The only season with two names, a transitional time that is blazing with change. The harvest time of the year, time to collect the bounty.

WINTER is the special season when we like to go inside, to get warm. It makes sense to follow the aspect of this season and go deep within, to your inner mind, to access inner workings. Tap into your personal resources, your own hidden or obscured secrets and solutions. It's time to go to the inner Room of your body temple Home to develop a New You. Good physical health gives access and realization of the whispers and sacred rites from deep within. Find the part of your personality not yet fully discovered, and your truth in the inner mind.

SPRING, the season of renewal entices you to use your talent and abilities to recreate order out of chaos in your life; being unorganized is because of indecision. Things get tossed aside, piled up high and forgotten, or never put away because you never decided what to do with it. Take a walk in Nature and notice the changes occurring all around, what the start of new things look like, watch the process of rebirth, fertility and how transition all grows into orderliness and beauty. Sit in Mother Nature's lap somewhere away from areas that are man made, taking in the array of colors, smell of fresh air, taking in balanced beautiful light into your soul and basking in soothing sounds nearby.

SUMMERTIME - A busy time of the year - to go to the beach; to go fishing; fun in the sun, fun things and food like watermelon and ice cream; outdoor activities to get rejuvenated or a vacation; busy birds, crickets, frogs and thunderstorms; so hot that it is easy to wind down to lazy and leisurely. The solstice is a balance time, and summer follows so you can 'play' into your balance. Other fun words for SUMMER: romance, parasol, lemonade stand, picnic, holiday parades and festivals, live music outside, surfing, BBQ, gardening.
Feelings should be happy-go-lucky, but, are you LOATHING yourself while trying on your bathing suit?

EMOTIONAL HYGIENE HIGHLIGHTS (AND GIFTS in bold) and quotes from Karla McLaren from her book The Language of Emotions - What Your Feelings Are Trying to Tell You
Instead of thinking about emotions as positive or negative, think about them as your friends and "honor your individuality...your heredity, or your past history" and see this "Language" we all have as a humanity in a new light.
The 3 levels of each emotion: A. Soft B. Medium (Mood State) C. Intense
Medium (Mood State) HAPPINESS and Contentment: Glad, Healthy Self-Esteem, Optimistic, Cheerful;
Intense HAPPINESS and Joy: Jubilant, Radiant, Thrilled.
Instead of thinking about emotions as positive or negative, think about them as your friends and "honor your individuality...your heredity, or your past history" and see this "Language" we all have as a humanity in a new light.
The 3 levels of each emotion: A. Soft B. Medium (Mood State) C. Intense
- Free-flowing FEAR brings the gifts to you of: Intuition, Instincts, and Focus. If you are confused or upset, then really bring your specific FEAR forward - and don't be afraid of it! Gifts of being calm, having a sensing stance, and listening help you to read people and situations more empathetically (think of this big word as being sympathetic or caring). It's like a tool kit full of magic. "Bringing FEAR forward will promote access to the information you need to calmly figure out what's really going on." K. McLaren
- Know more about your FEAR: it is "on" most of the time, not just a heightened, extreme alarm state. When you are grounded and focused (such as navigating your vehicle in traffic), the gift of this moment is heightened awareness (keeping track of other drivers) and ability to have your best concentration for intense, instinctual driving decisions. "Unless you are parked and crying on the roadside, you are driving using the gift of FEAR, often. Welcome and acknowledge this emotion of FEAR as a gift in your other daily responses and opportunity for change. Change is good!"
- 2. ANGER held inward or thrown outward are 2 ways of expressing your feelings. The 3rd way to express it is the best way to address personal rage issues, going to the "middle road", find your boundary and place heated or any level of your feelings there. The honorable move will allow no brutality toward others, and the movement to your boundary means you are not repressing or hurting yourself by stuffing it into your body. Protecting yourself by flowing your ANGER in this way will restore and ground your body; using your boundary helps healing of trauma, which is restorative, a great gift. When you truly let go of your ANGER in this protective way, it will allow you to honor others' ANGER and give you incredible strength to your psyche, and cause for celebration. Congratulations!
- 3. HATRED of self or others, including resentment, self loathing, contempt, disgust and shadow work. If we are having trouble identifying our feelings, and also our emotions, and we feel lost to get on the road to have some deep healing, then you are in need of doing a deeper look inward, to do "shadow work". Things that WE have hidden from ourselves can be denial of feelings, we may have wonderment at the unidentified "stuff" in the psyche that are seemingly hidden and mysterious, and therefore we are less aware of it. Going deeper to uncover, and open and welcome these intense feelings (not negative!) can help us gain intense awareness gifts, piercing vision, and find simmering brilliant artistic creativity, never before identified financial wizardry, mathematical genius and uncover our un-lived dreams. The shadow does not just contain "the bad parts of us", and the need to go deep periodically can be a healthy practice. Suggestion: Use the planets in retrograde to find easier access and have fun with your shadow self. It is a creative process, and your soul will be able to identify a new sacred space deep within. Get an INNER Voice AO Scan to help.
- 4. GRIEF - You may feel a great weight upon your soul inside of GRIEF with confusion and a tendency to feel suffocation and the inability to breathe freely. It will require you to go "down" deep into your soul, down to the awareness of the bodily sensations working together with your emotions in a quest for balance. The daily bad habit of repressing emotion "to get along" with the outside world has to be thrown out the window unless you want to prolong the agonizing parts of this process. Questions: "What needs to be mourned? What must be released completely? The gift of vision to notice and be aware of companionship and support that exists all around you during your mourning and grief. As you go "down" in pain, your heart will break open, but not apart. The gift of this, as Karla McLaren has written, "...your heart will become conduits through which the waters of life can flow . . . deepened and restored with healing fluidity." As your heart expands during this process, you will create more room to love and increase your breathing capacity (physical and rhetorical).
- When you are ready, you may need a funeral ritual to mark the end of your grieving process. A celebration can be with family or friends, use music and food for healing and grounding. Use the power of silence to integrate your deep inner self and celebrate the profound, powerful transformation that has shaped your being for life. You got to know this place with GRIEF. Feel the growth of spirit and intellect as you move forward out of the healing waters of GRIEF, and “the complete immersion in the river of all souls.”
- What to do if your GRIEF gets stuck? Suggestion to read more about this in Karla McLaren’s book ”The Language of Emotions.” You can also read and learn how to best honor the GRIEF in others, how to be “reverent of the (deep) soul work that is occurring.”
- 5. HAPPINESS - If all you want to pay attention to is HAPPINESS, then you will suppress the other emotions, and you won't really be happy in your life. It is not the only or most important emotion. It is good to feel happiness, as it comes and goes. After you process and acknowledge the boatload of other emotions that also come and go, it is easier to feel encouraged, peaceful and contented with HAPPINESS. As with the other intense categories of feelings, HAPPINESS can get manic, euphoric, and are excellent in a short-lived sort of way, not for a long term sustained goal.
Medium (Mood State) HAPPINESS and Contentment: Glad, Healthy Self-Esteem, Optimistic, Cheerful;
Intense HAPPINESS and Joy: Jubilant, Radiant, Thrilled.
- HAPPINESS - Feel-good feelings can help alter pain and promote normal working hormones and endorphins. After receiving your good bodywork, because you pick this happy choice, you can notice how it feels to get strands of stagnant energy detangled, and trigger the chemicals in the brain associated with bliss to get real pain relief, and promote relaxing sleep. The benefits of even a little bit of massage work will immediately be apparent. It should be a sought after relief plan, getting a massage, in our chaotic, stress-ridden world. Ask yourself, "What am I doing to promote my happiness and well-being?" Take steps to use your resources to help yourself to be on the mend, keep your balance to the side of relaxation, cheerfulness, lightheartedness and joyful, good spirits!
